Story Collection

Every day, we hear about families like yours across the state who are struggling to find the child care they need. Collecting and sharing these stories with policymakers and the general public can be a powerful way to advocate for public policies and investments so that more families can afford the child care they need, and so kids across Minnesota can thrive.

The Minnesota Budget Project wants to hear from Minnesotans across our state, including those people who have struggled to find and afford child care, those who know firsthand the difficulty of earning a living wage in the child care sector, or the employers that have faced challenges hiring and retaining workers due to lack of child care in their region.

We are asking for demographic data about race and ethnicity for internal purposes only. The primary reasons for gathering this information are: Future Engagement Opportunities: We want to ensure we reach out to a diverse range of individuals for voluntary engagement opportunities, programs, or events that might interest you; Inclusion and Representation: This information helps us identify communities most impacted by child care policies so that we can make sure our efforts to include diverse voices in our work are meaningful and equitable.
